Daintree Rainforest Observatory

Up on top of the Daintree rainforest canopy, JCU Post Doctorate Dr. Raymond Dempsey does a comparative study of photo-protective responses in the leaves of tropical trees during a wet-dry seasonal transition. He takes pre-dawn, mid-day and afternoon measurements with highly complex scientific instruments that measures levels of photosynthesis as well as collects leaf disks to take back to the lab for futher studies.
