Golden Bowerbird bower with his lichen and flower arrangements.  Endemic to the Atherton Tablelands rainforest in altitudes above 700m is the Golden Bowerbird, Prionodura <br />
newtoniana. Although the smallest bowerbird in Australia, the male of this species builds the largest bower, an <br />
elaborate U-shaped bower, which he decorates with lichens and tiny white flowers. This bower serves as his <br />
seduction lair – singing his distinct song to attract his less flamboyant female.
