The Southern Cassowary (Casuarius casuarius) flightless bird famous in the Queensland Wet Tropics. The name cassowary is of Papuan origin. It comes from 'kasu' meaning horned and 'weri' meaning head, in reference to the casqued or helmeted head.Mission Beach, Queensland, Australia
